Choosing a plug-in hot tub
120V or 240V?
On 120V the heater runs at 1kW. On 240V it runs at 4kW, so it has four times the heating power. Plug-in suits occasional use in a mild climate. If you soak most evenings or through the winter, have an electrician convert it to 240V.
What you still need
A dedicated 15 amp, 120V outdoor outlet with GFCI protection, installed by a licensed electrician. Don't run a hot tub from an extension cord.
